Kara Biles, CHRP, was recently named one of the Prince George Chamber of Commerce’s Top 40 Under 40 business leaders in Prince George. The final list is the result of a nomination process including examination of each nominee by a panel of six business professionals.

Since completing a Bachelor of Commerce in Marketing and Human Resources in 2008, Biles has gained experience in many facets of HR with the BC Public Service Agency, Sinclar Group Forest Products and Canadian Forest Products (Canfor) ranging in positions from HR assistant, project coordinator, e-learning specialist and HR generalist. Currently a corporate recruitment coordinator for Canfor, Biles continues to provide expertise by supporting Canfor’s recruitment and retention strategy. 

Born and raised in Prince George, Biles is actively involved in her community as a volunteer with the Salvation Army and Canadian Cancer Society. She has also shared her knowledge and experience coaching the University of Northern BC JDC West HR Management team in preparing for the largest business competition in Western Canada over the past three years.

“I’m passionate about Northern BC and enjoy working to make it a better place to live and play,” said Biles.

In 2011, Biles was recognized for her achievements, receiving the BC HRMA Rising Star Award. An enthusiastic advocate for her profession, Biles tirelessly continues to serve in her third year with the BC HRMA Northern Advisory Council, and is in her first year as Chair. She is renowned for her outstanding dedication to excellence in the human resources community in Northern BC.

Stefanie Young, CHRP, is a Human Resources Advisor with the City of Prince George.  Stefanie is also a member of the BC HRMA Northern Advisory Council and works with Kara and other members of the team to plan and implement local BC HRMA events.
