Blog?  What kind of a name is that for a blog?  Apparently, a very good one, as many of those submitting names for our new blogging corner on HRVoice.org voiced exactly that recommendation.  It seems very much in keeping with the “Complexity Made Simple” theme of the upcoming BC HRMA Conference 2011.  Blog may be basic – it is also our winner.

That said, Blog was not among the names that sent grins around the BC HRMA office.  That honour goes to the energies that submitted such creative alternatives as:  Hoopla HR, Chirp Chat, HRhog, Employ With Joy, The Thrive Hive and Blog Cabin.  The contenders for the crown of Fireside HR were many, but the basic Blog has taken the day.

With many thanks to all those who participated in BC HRMA’s “Name Our Blog” contest, we can not name any one winner.  Due to the fact that so many recommended we keep things simple, the $250 prize is being donated to Muscular Dystrophy Canada’s Bridges to the Future program.
