Goal Setting and your MBTI (and no, I don’t mean New Year Resolutions!)
By Krysty Wideen
You may have noticed so far that I am a fan of setting clear goals and objectives for projects (Start with what you need). It’s how we measure success and track our progress. You may also know, if you’ve been following my blogging since the beginning, that I am certified in the MBTI (Are labels relevant) and enjoy drawing insights from assessments (see my reflections about the EQ) that build self-awareness and understanding.
So, I was really intrigued when, inspired by the New Year, Psychometrics came out with the article, MBTI Type and Goal Setting. These are the folks who administer the MBTI and run the certification workshops. They also administer a host of other assessments and come out with some great articles in their monthly newsletter.
If you are interested in the MBTI at all, I’d take a look at this article.
For some insight about me…
I’m an ENFJ. I enjoy setting goals and putting the little check mark next to them upon completion (J). I also enjoy setting goals as a social process, outloud and interactive (E). In order to be motivating for me, goals need to be broad, inspiring, and future oriented and linked to my personal values.
What about you?
