The Human Resources Management Association (HRMA) is continuing to develop collaborative partnerships with education institutions, and recently signed final papers of agreement with the BC Institute of Technology (BCIT). The collaborations are designed to provide HR students with the skills, training, industry networks and learning resources needed to build long and successful careers.

Signed April 26, 2016 at HRMA’s Annual Conference + Tradeshow, the partnership will provide BCIT HR students with an HRMA membership, complete with access to the association’s networking, learning and employment resources, and mentorship opportunities.

Under the terms of the HRMA partnership, students are also given the chance to meet the professional certification requirements of HRMA’s National Knowledge Exam through their course work. The NKE is the first step in attaining the Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) which is Canada’s national designation for HR professionals—and administered by HRMA in both BC and the Yukon. To ensure transferability, the HR courses will be reviewed by HRMA and a professional member will be appointed to the HR program advisory committee as part of the partnership.

“HRMA is extremely pleased with our new partnership with BCIT which provides benefits to both parties as well as for students working towards a career in human resources,” said Anthony Ariganello, president and CEO of HRMA. “We are invested in the development of future human resources professionals and look forward to continuing a strong relationship with BCIT well into the future.”
