The Cannabis Talk Kit—A Toolkit of Conversation
As you know, in a very short time Canada will be facing an unprecedented societal change with the legalization of recreational cannabis. Many Canadian parents are concerned on how this will impact their children, particularly the ones entering or already in their teens.
Drug Free Kids Canada has been helping parents with issues regarding teen drug use by disseminating national multimedia education prevention campaigns for the past seven years.
Recently, they created a highly regarded tool for parents to talk to their kids about cannabis—The Cannabis Talk Kit. This toolkit is supported by Health Canada and the Canadian Centre on Substance Use and Addiction (CCSA) and, to date, over 250,000 copies have already been distributed.
Close to 30 professional organizations including the Canadian Association of Psychiatrists, the Canadian Pediatric Society and the Canadian Nurses Association have endorsed The Cannabis Talk Kit and are using it in their practices.
With several large employers like Scotiabank, BMO, Sun Life and Desjardins already promoting and sharing the toolkit with their employees. Drug Free Kids Canada would like to make it more broadly available to you, your team and families as well.
