Top Recruiter: Vancouverite in the Competition
Filmed in Miami this past May, cast members competed in three challenges judged by top authorities from the HR industry. Selection of the winner, however, will be left to show viewers, who can vote online as they watch the 8-episode series.
“It was such an intense challenge—almost like being on a five-day-long job interview of 16-hour days,” says White Rock-raised MacRae. “Most of the other cast members have at least ten years more experience than me, and I really tried to just soak it all in.” About his role as the show’s lone Canadian competitor, he adds: “I’m proud to be representing Vancouver and Canada. And I think my Canadian politeness really gives me an edge when wooing job candidates!”
While the ‘Top Recruiter’ has yet to be selected, MacRae already feels he’s come out a winner: “I’m actually working on-site in Los Angeles right now for a really exciting pre-IPO tech startup—an opportunity that came to my business thanks to one of the other cast members. Opportunities have been coming left, right, and centre thanks to Top Recruiter.”
The series has garnered significant attention both inside and outside the HR and recruiting industries for its mix of professional-skills competition and personal drama, and past seasons of the series have been watched by more than 3 million people.
The first episode of Top Recruiter: The Competition Season 3 launches September 9th at TopRecruiter.tv. Subsequent episodes will be released on a weekly basis through the September and October. A trailer for the season can currently be seen on the series website and Vimeo.
