For the second year running, BC HRMA took HR to school with the World Cafe at the British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT), Burnaby Campus.  On Wednesday, March 30, 2011, BC HRMA joined forces with BCIT to present an evening of advanced HR know-how and ‘real-life’ social networking.  Facilitated by Capilano University’s Kathryn Taft the evening drew over 150 students from across the Lower Mainland.

As 30 HR industry specialists gathered to host rotating roundtable discussions, the event threw a dynamic spotlight on the profession.  With a welcoming address from Robin Hemmingson, dean of business, BCIT and outstanding efforts on behalf of volunteers and staff alike, the night flowed seamlessly: buoyed by professionalism, meaningful conversation and common goals.

Many thanks to BCIT’s marketing and communications strategist Carly Wethersett for providing an illuminating video capsule that captures both the message and energy of the World Cafe.
