The Story of HR: Authors Wanted!
Is HR really that different from how it was half a century ago? If so, just how different? While the professional standards continue to evolve under the banner of the Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation, what about the experience of HR?
These aren’t just wide-eyed questions; these are wide-eyed queries with a purpose – to collect some great insights for sharing with other BC HRMA members and the broader business community in 2012.
As BC HRMA gears up to celebrate 50 years of Conference and 70 years as an association of HR professionals, we are looking for your insights for sharing both online and in the pages of PeopleTalk magazine.
- How has HR changed most over the intervening decades?
- What brought you into HR back then?
- What makes HR the career that it is today?
- How does the role and perception of HR continue to change
- Moreover, how has BC HRMA made a difference in your career – and what does the future bring?
We’re also interested in any pictures that might fit with the concept of HR: past, present, future. Please share your insights, anecdotes and images and look forward to great things in 2012.
Where will your stories and timeless photos/memorabilia find good use? Well, for starters, right here on HRVoice.org, but also in the pages of PeopleTalk if you are quick enough off the mark to respond. In addition, with Conference 2012 right around the corner, there is plenty of other opportunity to share the greater story of HR.
Don’t get bogged down in essay-style responses; feel free to bullet and capture your thoughts in shorter bites and brief anecdotes. Mostly, have some fun and help us put together a snapshot of HR’s big picture with your small touches! Email your responses to jasonmcr@telus.net asap!
